Leirion or leiridion or leilidion, lily later, is the plant from which the word flower came, which then included all the flowers in general. It is an impressive wild flower that immediately causes admiration.

The genus Lillion is a large class of lilies that includes more than a hundred species. Lilies are bulbous plants with worldwide distribution. They usually have a tall shoot with a flower at the top. Their flower usually consists of six petals and is facing with a slight slope towards the ground. It has brightly colored yellow anthers. Most species of lilies bloom during the spring and some in late summer.
There are ancient references and depictions of lilies such as the Minoan frescoes and in Thera.
he Lily of Palefkos is called the Lily of the Virgin and with its white color it symbolizes purity.
It is associated with the Annunciation of the Virgin, but it is said to be a later Western-style influence with romantic elements and that older hagiographies show the Archangel Gabriel usually holding a staff.
It is an aromatic plant that also has medicinal uses.
